Why Improve Schools?
In schools around the country, similar patterns emerge...
...a student shuffles from one class to the next but is not pushed to see the relationship between disciplines, nor does she see any connection between the content and her own life.
... a teacher accustomed to operating in isolation is asked to work with a team on the creation of an assessment but is not told how this process will help students, nor is he given the tools to work effectively with colleagues.
...a principal is compelled to introduce a new teacher evaluation system but is able to offer little in the way of why she is doing so other than “we have no choice.”
So what’s the solution?
Our belief is that the solution is to encourage the creativity, passion and love of learning that led teachers to be teachers in the first place.
